Some of you have asked for pictures of the streets around our home (Trinity Complex). There is a very busy soi (side street) called Silom Soi 5 that leads up to our building. I walk this street at least three times a week to get to and from my Thai class. Some days are more frustrating than others. Usually when I leave in the morning for class they are just getting set up - there are a bunch of stalls set up out there for a market. So I have to maneuver my way through a small street that has cars and sometimes big SUVs, a ton of people, carts, tables, tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis (what we call Baht Bikes). If you are claustrophobic and like your space this is not a good place for you. Here are pictures from Silom Soi 5 and a couple rain pictures too. It rains nearly EVERY day here and it is unlike any rainstorm I have ever been in before in the US. It is very difficult to capture it in a picture though.
This is walking home from class towards our building - the first part of the street is not as busy and the tall white building ahead is where we live - Trinity Complex.
As you get closer to our building, the street gets more crowded and harder to navigate.
